Hi!

I'm Whitney. Welcome to my little slice of the Internet, where I talk about life in Seattle and our travels beyond it. I have a handsome husbro I may have met outside of a bar, two crazy felines, and two kiddos, too. It’s a lot, so I’m not always spending as much time here as I’d like. Do you like reality TV, sampling all the products, and pickled veggies? Same!

I'm so glad  you're here.

That Lakedale Resort Life

That Lakedale Resort Life

Some places are just pure magic. Lakedale Resort on San Juan Island is one of them.

I don't say that lightly. We've weekended at a lot of places and Lakedale really does have it all! And by "all," I mean:

  • Log cabins (where we stayed)
  • Camp sites
  • A lodge
  • A lake house
  • Canvas Cabins (225 sf)
  • Cavas Cottages (350 sf)
  • A 1978 Airstream Excella
  • A brand new yurt village (opening this summer!)

It's important I mention I know all of this because I've been helping with Lakedale's social media for the past few months, BUT my opinions are completely unbiased. It's the most woodsy, family-friendly place I've ever been, and it's also great for couples or groups of friends. I think it would be SUPER fun to have a family reunion there because everyone would get to pick the type of accommodation that works for them. And you KNOW how dysfunctional and exhausting families can be.

In order for me to get a real lay of the land at Lakedale, the team invited Raz, ODP and me to come check it out a few weekends ago. Here are some of my favorite photos. If you're looking for somewhere away from it all where you're going to make AMAZING memories, Lakedale is IT.

I just wish we could have stayed longer.
