24 in 2018 and The 5 Best Books I Read This Year

I didn't expect to power through my book goal for the year so quickly, but here we are. I blame the library's deadlines, my mis-management of my holds process (live and learn!), and getting my paws on some books so good I couldn't put them down. Isn't that always the best feeling? At least until they end and then you panic wondering if you'll ever find another book you can get so lost in you forget everything else. I got really lucky with how many times that happened to me this year.

Reading choices are extremely personal, so what I like is when people tell me THE BEST books they've read and then I get to look them up on Amazon and see if I'd like them, too. I will give very little explanation. I don't want my life to feel like a big book report like it did in high school. But, I want to provide the full list for anyone who's interested (me), and I'll give you my top five right below it. Go ahead and scroll down if that's all you want

A sample of my stack. Some of these I will keep forever. A few went in my little library. The rest will be consigned, so I can—you guessed it—buy more books!
