Hi!

I'm Whitney. Welcome to my little slice of the Internet, where I talk about life in Seattle and our travels beyond it. I have a handsome husbro I may have met outside of a bar, two crazy felines, and two kiddos, too. It’s a lot, so I’m not always spending as much time here as I’d like. Do you like reality TV, sampling all the products, and pickled veggies? Same!

I'm so glad  you're here.

Brand Next Door: Basic Invite

I’m so happy Basic Invite exists. I am OBSESSED with snail mail and papery, so I spend a lot of time looking for, designing, ordering, buying, and sending paper goods. And, if you know me, you know I have a very special affection for Utah brands. Basic Invite ticks all of those boxes and more.

When they reached out to tell me about their new plastic business cards, I spent more time than I want to admit scrolling through the whole business cards section on their website, picking out options and designing proofs that I would shove in Raz’s face on my phone screen and ask, “Is THIS more me or is THIS more me?” I ended up going with a really pretty, simple script that shows just my name and a few key links on a clear plastic card. I love them! Who wants one? (Don’t raise your hands all at once ;))

After I picked some biz cards, I couldn’t stop myself from shopping for what I’ve been REALLY pining after for years: personalized stationary. For some reason, I have in my head that my dad used stationary that said “from the desk of,” or that he got me some that said that when I was little and had a picture of a teddy bear on it. Either way, I wanted a new set. And THAT was a whole new ballgame because stationary offered EVEN MORE options. Since Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online, I was able to reel myself in to a two-ish designs and then change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different options. This is SO important because it allows me to make sure the everything is exactly how I want it, down to the littlest detail! This feature really sets Basic Invite apart. I ended up choosing a rose gold foil on the stationary and completely customizing the text.

A few other things I love about Basic Invite:

  • Custom Samples: Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers the ability to order a printed sample of their actual invitation so they can see exactly how it will print, as well as assess the paper quality, before they ever have to place their final order.

  • Over 40 Different Colors of Envelopes: I love picking envelopes and Basic Invite is just as colorful with envelopes as they are with invitations and other papery. Customers can choose from over 40 different colors when it comes to their envelopes so that they can make their paper goods stand out even before it is opened. All of their envelopes are peel and seal so the envelopes can be quickly and securely closed (and you won’t have any Seinfeld snafus, if you remember that episode).

  • Address Capturing Service: Basic Invite offers an address capturing service that allows customers to simply share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other form of social media to request their friends and family’s addresses, which are all stored in the customer’s account and can then be selected during the design process. Basic Invite offers recipient address printing at no cost on all Christmas card orders.

  • FOIL: Foil cards are available in gold, silver, and rose gold. Customers can choose flat or raised foil on all of Basic Invite’s foil designs.

And here’s the kicker—right now, Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51 (Honestly, I plan to use it for myself to get going on their happy holiday cards)

This post is sponsored by Basic Invite, but all opinions—as always—are completely mine
