Say Yes to a Yurt
Last summer, Lakedale Resort opened its seven-member Yurt Village and we got to visit it while we were there, just a few weeks before it opened. You can see ODP and me twirling in one here. They were cool then, and last weekend we got to stay in one—they’re even cooler now!
I posted a few photos on my socials and people started asking for more details, so I wanted to share here. The yurts have:
King size beds (Raz was in heaven—we have a queen—and even my easily uncomfortable while sleeping bod enjoyed the mattress)
Full-size sleeper sofa (making the yurts perfect for a small family)
Rocking chair, side chair, and tables
Dining table and chairs
Wet bar, fridge, and Kurig with tasty pods (not Starbucks)
Flat panel smart TV with apps (Netflix, Hulu, YT…Raz added ESPN to Yurt 7)
Ceiling fan, stand-up shower, nice size sink, etc.
PRIVATE HOT TUB
BBQ
Area to relax on deck + beach towels if you choose to play in or on one of Lakedale’s three spring-water lakes
And a designated parking spot just a short walk from your front door (you don’t want people parking right in front of each yurt, trust)
In my dream life, I would get my family or a group of friends to take over the whole village for at least a week and we would have ourselves a TIME. It’s not entirely out of the question.
The Yurts are just the latest type of accommodation at Lakedale and while they’re certainly my favorite so far, you’d be remiss if you didn’t check out everything Lakedale offers—from Log Cabins, to the swankiest Canvas Cottages I’ve ever seen: https://www.lakedale.com/. Plus! We’re always running some level of fun special (I say we because I do Lakedale’s social media), so there are deals to be had, especially if you go off-season.
If you know me, you know I know a good glamping situation when I find it, so if you decide to rent yourself a Yurt, I’d love to hear how you like it!
