Potty Training in Quarantine
It had been on our mind for a while, the need to potty train, but we just couldn’t commit. We’d referenced Oh Crap!, the guide everyone seems to recommend. That was over a year ago. We got tired of big poops and heavy diapers (and paying for diapers!) from a fully-communicative man. What better time than while living in quarantine?
So, I did what I do best: I asked my sorority sisters what had worked for them, and learned they had all referenced a 38 page ebook that’s hidden on the internet. I read it, had Raz read it, and we committed. By day two, our dude had the hang of it all.
A few caveats:
We have not yet committed to nighttime because mom and dad just got our sleep back and aren’t ready to be that savage yet
There are still a few accidents, mostly related to getting to the potty in time, but we’re confident things will get easier
Our new life is spent running to the potty. In many ways, diapers are easier, but we see the light at the end of this potty tunnel and it is BRIGHT AND WARM
Stuck in quarantine with a toddler who is 24 months+? Something to consider. It’s not like you’ll be missing out on all those parties with your friends ;)
Next up: DIY haircuts. Sigh.
The potty things we use are all linked in my Amazon Storefront here.
