Brand Next Door: Mount Adams Fruit
I got a DM last week asking if we wanted some cherries in exchange for an Instagram post and I was quick with my reply: “Yes! Absolutely.” I love local fruit—one of my uncles works for a company in Wenatchee that uses a proprietary cherry picker to get the little juicy candies off trees and also I’m a human with a sweet tooth, so.
What I thought was especially cool about Mount Adams Fruit’s offering was that, in the age of COVID, I could support local farmers AND enjoy a contactless encounter. Pending seasonality, they have apples, pears, and cherries and are currently shipping cherries. You can read (and watch some really awesome videos) about their process here. Their bread and butter, if you will, is wholesale, but given the COVID climate, they’ve pivoted to start sending boxes of fresh fruit directly to consumers. I hope they keep doing it.
We were SO excited when the cherries arrived (as evidenced by B’s face, which was not planned as part of my photo shoot and was actually semi-stressful as far as stain management is concerned) that we ran out to the porch as soon as they were dropped off and opened them right there. We snacked until I got too stressed to keep wiping down a very eager young woman and shooed us inside. As I write this a few days later, Raz is pitting a large batch and Googling how to make cocktail cherries. I would invite you over, but…
I love that companies like Mount Adams Fruit exist. They care so much about their customers and the quality of their product. They’re about to become our go-to for fruit to our door, and have already given our family lots of smiles. And, it goes without saying, the cherries are absolutely delicious.
You in, too? Order yours here.
(Mount Adams Fruit didn’t ask me to write this post, but I did anyway :))
